WINSTON & DOROTHY
Adopted September 27, 2025
Winston's story: A compassionate animal lover heard meowing from behind a wall at the rental house at which she was vacationing. This lady would not give up until the rental house owner came to review her claim. Sure enough, there was a cat trapped! The woman wanted to keep Winston but her dog had different ideas.
Dorothy's story: Someone knocked on our door and said they found a kitten under a car who looked deceased. Our employee went with them to see the kitten and found her barely moving and covered in fleas. Dorothy was rushed to the emergency vet where she received a transfusion and the care she needed.
Thank you Andie for adopting this pair of black and white tuxedo cats. Although each cat had a difiicult start to life we know they will now be cherished and cared for forever.
ROBIN AND TROUBLE
Adopted September 27, 2025
Three puppies, two males named Tommy Boy and Trouble, and one female named Robin, were found as strays and taken to a kill shelter in Orange County. Tommy Boy and Robin both had parvo and Trouble had a fractured back leg. The AALOC team knew these puppies didn’t stand a chance with their medical issues and would be euthanized, so a volunteer pulled them out of the kill shelter to receive the medical attention they needed and the chance to find forever homes at AALOC. We are so grateful to the couple who provided Robin and Trouble their happily-ever-after ending, particularly since Robin and Trouble were a bonded pair. Giving both dogs a forever home together is the very best life we could have hoped for!
CHANCE AND SPIRIT (now Sonny)
Adopted September 9, 2025
An animal volunteer was at a South LA shelter picking up cat food for strays when she saw a woman dumping a dog and her litter of three puppies. The woman said one of the puppies had tested positive for Parvo and one had already died at home. The volunteer knew the dogs would all be euthanized immediately if given to the shelter, so she took them home and contacted AALOC for help. With the new medical treatments for Parvo the entire family recovered and we are delighted to report mom and all three puppies have found new forever homes. Chance and Sonny now live (and love!) Judith and Bryan, their new pet parents. Many sloppy puppy kisses to Judith and Bryan for taking both of these special pups home together!
