TAYLOR
Adopted June 1, 2026
Taylor, a young female sheperd mix, was on the kill list at one of the local high-kill shelters but a very compassionate individual starting calling every Orange County 501(c)3 pet rescue pleading with each organization to save Taylor’s life. Not one other rescue organization called the woman back – except AALOC. We just couldn’t bear the thought of this beautiful dog being euthanized. Taylor was so sweet, lovable and friendly we just knew she'd find a home. Sure enough, a young family took one look and fell in love with Taylor and vice versa. Thank you Barbie and family for taking Taylor home!
JOEY & CHANDLER
Adopted May 31, 2026
Life can be cruel, for humans and animals alike. All we know is that brothers Joey, Ross and Chandler were abandoned on AALOC’s porch and needed medical help. No notes, no reason other than someone just didn’t want them anymore or perhaps could not afford the cost of a veterinarian. Our shelter was completely full, but the AALOC staff couldn’t turn these little darlings away. Ross was recently adopted and now Joey and Chandler have also found their forever homes. Thank you so much Kim and family for picking Joey and Chandler as the newest members of your pack!
MITZIE
Adopted May 15, 2026
This adorable cat was abandoned. Hard to believe because Mitzie is a mackerel tabby – one of the best cats in the world. Some think mackerel tabbies have the personality of a dog but in a feline body. Also called “tiger cats,” mackerel tabbies make the best family pets due to their great body and gentle disposition. Tabby cats, and especially mackerel tabby cats, are known for being outgoing. They tend to like people, and their families tend to pay them a lot of attention. They do well with kids and pets because they are friendly. Mitzie is all this and more: she is super friendly, extremely smart and craves human interaction. We are happy to report Mitzie has found a home and a forever friend. Way to go Mitzie! Have a happy new life!
VIOLET
Adopted May 9, 2026
Four tiny little kittens were abandoned at AALOC’s doorstep. One of the female kittens was named Violet, another Daisy, and their two brothers were named Archie and Alfie. Violet is a stunning calico-tabby with luminous green eyes, a pink button nose, and dainty white paws that look like little mittens. She has a calm, thoughtful nature and an observant gaze that suggests she’s always quietly taking in the world around her. Sweet and gentle, she seems like the kind of companion who will happily keep you company, whether that means curling up nearby for a nap or watching the day unfold from her favorite cozy spot. We think Katherine saw exactly that when she met Violet because Katherine chose to take Violet home. Thank you Katherine for making Violet the happiest cat in the world!
