For many years AALOC has been blessed with an amazing relationship with one of the best Mexican restaurants and event venues in Orange County: The Hacienda in Santa Ana. When one of their employees passed away, we were able to assist by taking into our care the person’s long-loved kitty named Sugar.

Sugar is a gorgeous and oh-so-sweet senior cat who recently tested positive for FeLV, feline leukemia. This feline virus is contagious to other cats but is not contagious to you, dogs, or other pets. She was boarded in isolation at our vet after recovery, but this is no life for any cat, especially Sugar who is the loviest of them all. It was agonizing to see her live alone in a small stainless steel vet cage after she had to leave all the love she ever knew behind. One of our volunteers who is severely allergic to cats has provided Sugar a spare bedroom in her home for a short term alternative, but she is not able to spend any time with her due to the allergic reaction risk. Sugar needs a foster home with no other cats, or one with cats who already have FeLV. If you can supply the home and the love, all veterinary/food expenses are covered, and you will be rewarded by one of the sweetest cats we’ve ever rescued.

Please submit an application to foster or adopt Sugar. Once your application is reviewed and approved we will contact you to make an appointment to visit us at AALOC to meet Sugar and get to know her a bit.
