SEBASTIAN

Adopted August 20, 2026

Unbelievable and heartbreaking incidents involving animals happen far too often. A man arrived at the AALOC shelter asking us to take his cat. Our staff gently explained that we are already beyond capacity and unable to safely intake additional animals at this time. In response, the man opened the carrier, released the cat outside our building, and drove away. Terrified and confused, the frightened cat bolted into an unfamiliar parking lot, dangerously close to traffic. Thankfully, one of our dedicated employees acted quickly and was able to safely rescue him before he disappeared or was seriously injured. Well Sebastian never has to worry about being abused again. A wonderful couple chose Sebastian as their forever pet and we wish them all many Happy Tails!

SPENCER

Adopted August 14, 2026

Spencer’s story could have ended before it truly began—but thanks to a second chance, this sweet boy is healthy, happy, and ready for the life he deserves. Spencer was at Orange County Animal Care in Tustin when he tested positive for parvo, a diagnosis that once meant little hope for survival. With no rescue stepping forward, he was placed on the euthanasia list. AALOC couldn’t let his story end there. We brought Spencer to our trusted veterinary team, where he received life-saving treatment and completely recovered. Spencer has now moved on to the next chapter of his life - a real forever home and two adoring pet parents who spoil him rotten... and we do mean rotten! Twice daily walks, beds in every room, pup cups and more! Thank you Monica and Alex for choosing Spencer and loving him like no other!

CANYON (now Banks)

Adopted July 13, 2026

Ten young puppies were abandoned at a veterinary hospital and then transferred to the shelter. Frightened, sick, and without a family to advocate for them, their future looked grim. In years past, a positive parvo diagnosis often meant little hope. But today, thanks to a groundbreaking treatment, parvo is no longer the death sentence it once was. A generous supporter donated enough to treat all ten and eight survived. Canyon (now named Banks) was one of the surviving puppies and now he has a new home! We are so happy to have played a part in providing this baby the opportunity to find a forever family and live a long life!

TOMMY

Adopted June 17, 2026

Three Great Pyrenees mix puppies, two males named Tommy Boy and Trouble, and one female named Robin, were found as strays and taken to a kill shelter in Orange County. Tommy Boy and Robin both had parvo and Trouble had a fractured back leg. The AALOC team knew these young dogs didn’t stand a chance with their medical issues and would be euthanized, so a volunteer pulled them out of the kill shelter to receive the medical attention they needed and the chance to find forever homes at AALOC. They all recovered and were waiting for their forever homes. Trouble and Robin were adopted together but Tommy Boy wasn't as lucky until this week when he was blessed not only with a new home but one that will allow him to visit his siblings frequently. Tommy Boy was adopted by the mother of the couple who adopted Robin and Trouble. We are so grateful these pups will now live long lives together!
