The 31st Annual Valentine's Luncheon & Boutique was held at the Hacienda Restaurant on February 12, 2010. Guests enjoyed wonderful food, shopping for unique items, and a interesting presentation by the featured speaker, Mr. Ryan Drabek, Interim Director of Orange County Animal Care Center. Mr. Drabek discussed progressive changes at the 59 year old shelter such as foster programs, a kitten nursery, and a license amnesty period for pet owners. He applied for and was awarded a $50,000 grant by the OC Board of Supervisors which sponsored the spaying/neutering of feral cats for TNR (trap/neuter/release). Mr. Drabek also emphasized several pet safety issues, including pet drownings in pools, and protecting pets from coyotes which are present in all areas of Orange County. Guests also participated in an extended question and answer session with Mr. Drabek.

Kathy Alberti, Board Member and Treasurer, was awarded a certificate acknowledging her hard work and dedication to AALOC animals and programs.
