On September 30th, a local vet called AALOC to rescue 8 beautiful St. Bernard pups ill with parvovirus. These AKC pups faced euthanasia because the breeder had no funds. On arrival to our vet's office, all suffered from vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, and fevers of 106 degrees and three pups were in critical condition, not even able to stand or hold their heads up. Our vets worked overtime, giving fluids and blood to each pup, but despite our best efforts, one little male succumbed. His littermates pulled through with intensive care and are now recovering in an AALOC foster home.
No sooner did the pups go to their foster home, then a new little pup named Ashley was found on the road by a good Samaritan and was also diagnosed with parvo. She is only 4 months old, weighs 3 pounds, and has recovered wonderfully.
AALOC needs your help to pay our bills for Sassy, Punky, Spanky, Linus, Andy, Rocky, Beethoven, Tyson, and Ashley....and all the others who will need us next. No donation is too small. You make the difference! Thank you.
